God Wants Us to Remember Redemption (1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

Pastor Dennis, October 1, 2017
Part of the Exposition of 1 Corinthians series, preached at a Sunday Service service

This Lord's Supper message explains the ways God has given to His people to remember His redemptive work for them. In the old covenant, it was the passover. In the new covenant, it is the Lord's supper with the bread and the cup. The new covenant believers are expected to honor the Redeemer by living a holy life. Those who fail to remember their new responsibilities as Christians, desecrate the Lord's supper and will be chastened by God.

1 Corinthians 11:24-25

24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
