God's plan for his children include suffering. Christians who understand scripture should not be shocked when they are persecuted for identifying with Jesus. Peter said Jesus left us an example and we should respond to persecution as he did. Peter describes some of Jesus's response when he was persecuted and exhorts us to do the same and trust God soften plan at all times.
